Sound familiar?

Growth outran the finance function.

Most companies do not arrive at us because finance is working. They arrive because revenue is climbing, headcount is scaling, and the quiet infrastructure that should hold it all together is overdue. Here is what it usually looks like.

01
Speed vs. structure

The company is growing faster than the finance structure can carry.

Revenue is compounding, headcount is climbing, but reporting, planning and controls were built for a company half this size, and the gap widens every week. Decisions are made on gut, not numbers.

Typical at Series A → B
02
Absent foundation

There is no finance structure. Just spreadsheets and hope.

No chart of accounts that means anything, no reporting cadence, no forecast that ties to reality. When an investor, board or auditor asks a real question, the answer takes three days to produce.

Pre-first finance hire
03
Process chaos

The processes exist, they are just a complete mess.

Month-end takes several weeks. Numbers disagree between systems. Every close is a firefight. Automation was promised, but the data underneath is broken, so AI just makes the noise arrive faster.

Pre-ERP · Pre-close readiness
04
Capability gap

Nobody inside the company actually knows how to do finance.

The founder is doing the books at 11pm. An ops person owns cashflow by accident. Hiring a senior finance lead would cost €120k+ and you are not ready. You need the standard without the overhead.

Fractional CFO territory
05
The boring thing

Compliance is the work nobody wants, and nobody can avoid.

Regulators, parent companies, auditors, acquirers, someone is going to look. "We'll get to it" is not a framework. A Compliance Management System is not a binder; it is a living system that holds up the day it is tested.

Pre-audit · Pre-expansion
06
Missing bench

No finance professionals inside the company.

A junior controller doing the work of a CFO. A founder translating between an accountant, an auditor and a board. Nobody senior enough to build the system, nobody with the time to operate the one you have.

Interim CFO engagement

Proven impact

What building the structure properly actually produces.

400%

Revenue growth

Supported strategic decisions that contributed to 400% revenue growth at a post-insolvency software subsidiary, during full finance and compliance transformation.

50%

Processes automated

Reduced manual finance processes by 50% through ERP integration and financial automation. From fragmented tools into a single consolidated reporting structure.

350%

MRR increase

Built the entire finance function from scratch as the first finance hire, contributing to a 350% increase in MRR and 20% reduction in monthly costs.

The approach

A finance and compliance advisory built for the inflection point.

We work with founders and leadership teams at the moments that matter most, before the fundraise, before the ERP goes live, before the expansion crosses a border. We build what holds up when someone looks closely.

"Change without structure is just automated chaos."

  • 01

    Structure before software

Clean data. Clean processes. Institutional controls. Then, and only then, automation and AI accelerate something that already works.

  • 02

Finance and compliance in one firm

CFO-level finance expertise and ECCP-certified compliance under one roof. What most companies need two advisors for, we cover completely.

  • 03

Built to hold up under scrutiny

Every deliverable is designed to withstand audit: regulators, institutional investors, parent companies, acquirers. Built right the first time.

  • 04

    Three corridors. One firm.

Senior operational experience across Germany, the GCC, and the United States. For cross-border companies, this is not a feature, it is the difference.

Services

Two disciplines. One operator.

The founder

Umair
Jamil

Fractional CFO · ECCP Compliance Officer

"I have rebuilt a finance function inside a company being absorbed by one of Germany's largest groups, while it was still trying to operate as a startup. I have been the first finance hire a founder ever made. I know what breaks first, what to build before anything else, and what a founder actually needs at the moment it counts."

Umair Jamil, founder of Finanselor

The person behind Finanselor

Institutional experience. Applied at the moment it matters.

Umair Jamil has spent 15 years building finance and compliance systems at the point where institutional rigour meets operational reality. Inside Fortune 500 companies on Wall Street and in global retail; inside a post-insolvency corporate rebuild navigating one of Germany's most demanding audit environments; and as the first finance professional ever hired by early-stage companies.

Certified as a European Compliance Professional at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, and as Senior Finance professional, Umair holds the dual qualification that makes Finanselor's single-firm model possible. Most companies at an inflection point need both a finance architect and a compliance officer. Here, they are the same person.

Contact

The right time to build
is before the pressure arrives.

Most companies reach out when something has already forced the issue. That can be fixed. But the companies that build early move faster through it.
